Spikeball Inc is creating the next great American sport. We are harnessing the powers of rock solid products and a passionate community. To continue our insane growth, we need to bring on some more hands that share our drive and initiative. Think you have what it takes? Apply below.
Things at Spikeball are moving incredibly fast. We were just named the 289th fastest growing business in the US per the Inc 500 (#10 in Illinois). You may have seen us on Shark Tank, The Today Show, Wall Street Journal, Esquire Magazine, Fox & Friends, ESPN2, or at your neighborhood park/beach. We have averaged 100%+ revenue growth each year since we launched in 2008. We hit $1 million in annual revenue in 2013 with ZERO full time employees. We want our team to be as efficient as possible while giving them an incredible level of autonomy and responsibility to achieve their goals (yes, we ask each person to define their own goals). We believe that by focusing on our community, while making great products, we can continue to make something pretty amazing. Our story is a great one, and our community is telling it and living it every day.
Help us create a new sport that has a fanatical community surrounding it. We are creating a new category, NOT simply building a better mousetrap. Read that again—this is what we are doing. It’s not a better baseball bat or basketball, it’s an entirely new sport. Trailblazing in its purest form.
We’re looking for incredibly smart, driven, self-aware, empathetic, curious, self-improvement seekers to join us.
You can deliver and receive tough-to-hear feedback in a constructive way. You see hard conversations as vehicles to improvement.
You’re not: one who cuts people off when they are speaking; a one-upper; arrogant; an asshole (can I say that?); never wrong; a loud talker; comfortable with the way things are currently done; one who accepts things as they are; the person who gives unsolicited advice; long winded.
You are: REALLY smart; one who tries to be interested and not interesting; an exceptionally good listener; empathetic; open to hearing the other side of the story; open to constructive criticism; always looking for a better way; self-motivated; more often than not getting into new groups/interests at work or on your own; a sponge for self-improvement; the first to admit it when you’re wrong; a calculated risk taker; one to question the status quo; the person that raises their hand when they want to learn more.
